There is little else more scary to you than filing for bankruptcy. You are a responsible individual and have worked hard all your life. You have been self employed, have run a successful business, raised great kids, enjoyed a beautiful marriage and now to find yourself filing bankruptcy is overwhelming emotionally. You are devastated financially because of the financial crisis going on in this country. Ok. Your business was sometimes marginal but you wish that you had not taken so for granted the years that you did have a little extra. Spending it on a luxury here and there when you should have been saving it away. Who knew? You thought it would all go on forever even though, and you have said it yourself many times that the only thing you can depend on is change. But this kind of change is outrageous. To find yourself unable to pay your bills is the most debilitating kind of a situation. Here we are on this planet. It is a great gift to be breathing and alive. And we have to take care of ourselves, we have use our natural creativity to sustain ourselves. Ants do it, all living things must sustain themselves. Next life, come back as a rock.

Filing for bankruptcy is something that I hope the robber barons of Wall Street are doing right now. This is ridiculous what has happened and been allowed to happen in our economy and in the world’s economy. As we speak the world economies are falling and some of them are tumbling. This fiasco began with Regan and his economic policies which made mince meat of oversight or any regulation or any sanity for that matter. The world was their oyster they thought or at the very least the financial in crowd was running their own casino, they were gambling with our money and with the world’s money. And they were allowed to not only continue but to escalate and up the ante so to speak. Mortgages, peoples’ homes, became part of the sport, part of the gamble, presented in huge packages, millions of mortgages tied together and bet on. The game was to gather as many mortgages, as much money and as fast as possible and sell to the highest bidder. And the highest bidder sold again and then the bundle was sold again. The company that held your mortgage couldn’t care less about you who became just a number for their gain.

Declaring bankruptcy right now in your life is not what you wanted or expected yourself to be doing. You did not have a great job, but you had a really gorgeous , great wife, and a fabulous home. It was all beyond your wildest imagination really. I mean, a person like you having all that was so incredible, you could not believe it was true. You never did well in school, had no ambitions really. But you were handsome and loved women and knew how to play that game. Well, I suppose you have got to work with what you have and you certainly had a way with women and then this very hot woman caught your eye. You could not imagine she was looking at you. You asked her out, you two connected immediately and within two weeks you were married. She had a great job, she was educated, beautiful. You just couldn’t believe she married you. What a lucky guy! Even though you had a shitty job they gave you a huge mortgage with no money down because of your wife’s job. She found another guy, left you in the dust and now you sit holding the papers.
